Anyone use a battery powered vacuum?
Been struggling to find a good battery powered vacuum that can handle a bit of water. Between the dog and the two year old, it's a never ending job keeping the boat clean. Any suggestions for a compact portable vacuum that won't break the bank?

why battery powered? For when i am parked at home, I use a 1 gallon shop vac.
For on the boat, I have a Black and Decker 12v vacuum that plugs in the 12v outlet.

The boat stays at the cottage most of the summer, so I don't get a lot of opportunity with a shop vac. From the reviews I've read, it sounds like the 20V battery operated units have more suckling power than the 12v corded one that you posted. How do you like that black and decker?

It certainly isn't anywhere as close to the suction of the 1 gallon 110v shop vac. But in a pinch, it's good for little things while out and about on the boat. My boat is parked on the trailer on the back/side of my house where I have electricity and lights. So no reason to use the little guy when I'm at home. I didn't want to worry about dead batteries, so I got the corded one. It's really for those times when someone spills chips on my hydroturf floors. so it does fine for that.
