He removes the trim pieces and gets down to bare glass so each piece is tinted all the way to the edge with no light gaps. I've seen a handful that have been tinted while on and the light gaps around the edges either showed to much for my liking, or were covered with a strip of black vinyl where glass meets trim to hide it.

Removing the glass is not a difficult job, the worst part is fitting all the pieces into the back of the car!

Sounds like you removed the glass yourself. Anything to watch out for when removing and reinstalling the glass?

Before you remove it, take photos of where the windshield supports attached and the position they are in. After you pull the Rubber seal out to expose the screws it's as easy as just removing them, each main panel will have one bolt with a nut that you have to access from underneath. You can typically tell which one this is because it has a slightly larger head.

Once it is all unscrewed the glass lifts right off of the boat. I have found that it goes back on the boat better if you have not had to move or reposition the boat / trailer at all. And even then it just takes a little bit of time to get the center glass alignment back.

When I take them to my tinter, he drills out the rivets and removes the metal trim and the rubber trim, tints it, then reassembles everything with stainless rivets and you can't ever tell it was taken apart

It would really finish off the boat, that's for sure.

On the LSV I took the windshield apart, and just gave them the glass. The tint was perfect, but the windshield never looked as good around the rubber seals as before it was taken apart.

On the Mojo I took the windshield off the boat, but didn't take it apart. I have a small 1/8-1/4 gap around the inside of the windshield that I cover with black 3m tape. The tint looks just as good otherwise and the seals all look original.

The nice thing as the years have gone by the tint gets scratched, there is a couple really small defects showing up, with it not being extended to the seals its much easier to remove and re-tint. Just a thought.

    08 LSV with 5%

    13 Mojo with 5%
