Rub Rail Cleaning
The guide pole pads on my trailer have the name of the dealer written on them in white letters. Last weekend I was putting the boat on the trailer in sort of rough water and rubbed up against one of the poles. The lettering on the pad rubbed off and got white stuff on my black rubrail. I tried rubbing it off with some armor all type stuff and that did not work. Anyone have any suggestions? Could you use some type of scotchbrite pad or would that mess up the rubrail? Also, why in the world would they make pole pads that are going to do that? Thanks.

Rubrail
Try a small area first. Moisten a cloth diaper with laquer thinner to remove the paint from the guide ons, then wipe dry. Go back over the area with a vinyl protector, if you should get paint on the insert again, it should just wipe off, and repeat the above. Brian Raymond
