    Default Port seat balast

We have a 2016 Craz with 1100 rears and am considering adding 400 lb give or take under port seat.
We usually only have a small crew 2 adults and one child in boat while surfing.
Surf regular most of time plan to isolate bag with valve so goofy is still available
    Which bag have people used?
Will T into rear fill line and vent into available hole in rear bag work?
What size factory hoses do Moomba use, can't figure if they are measured inside or outside.
If anybody that has done done please reply with set up and wave improvement results

    Thanks

I just measured my bag fittings yesterday. They are 1 1/8" outside diameter.

Vent off the 400 lb sac. Fill the 400 from where the 1100 vent was removed. I have 400s piggy backed on each of my 1100s. I also added a check valve to the vent line so the bags suck flat. I don't really think isolating the setup with a valve will gain you much. May as well add 400s on each side, weight the boat evenly, and displace as much water as possible. Your surf system will do the rest.

An alternative is to keep your set up as is and use a Tsunami pump to fill/drain the 400lb bag independently. This is what I did in our '14 LSV. When I upgraded my rear bags to 900's, I kept the stock 650's under each seat to give us extra displacement when we're only 3 in the boat. I've found it's easier (and quicker) to tweak the fill of the additional bag with the independent Tsunami pump rather than to piggy back off the 900's.

I lost some high quality ballast when my twin boys left for college last year .

    Thanks for the response.
So you have it with the 1100 using factory fill/drain and vent then have a line from the extra vent that would normally have a cap on it to fill the 400 then a check valve in factory vent so it flattens bag to help drain the 400?
Are you filling 400 from bottom?
Or did you leave fill/drain factory on 1100 then move factory vent to 400 and use the old vent from 1100 to fill and drain 400?
Can't put a 400 on each side my wife is not willing to give up all storage, but the way you are describing would eliminate the need for valve as I could just shut pump of when the 1100 is full and 400 would remain empty.

    Thanks again.

I drew it out for simplicity. You will need a new hose and fittings from the 1100 to the 400. You will also need a new vent line because this will be longer coming from under the seats. The 400 fills from the bottom. The check valve is necessary to empty because the 400 drains to the top of the 1100.

Wonderful thank you so much that way seems a lot easier than what I was thinking plus the check valves seem like a good idea for both sides as there always seems to be a couple inches left in bags.

I teed off the fill line to my 900lb and then to a 250lb tube sack. I vented the 250lb to the 900lb so once that filled it overflowed to the 900 & also did a check valve on the vent. Works very well.
