Running engine while on trailer
Can anyone direct me to a good Thread for running the boats engine while out of the water and still on the trailer? I have heard that you can run water into a bucket and have the boat suck the water from that bucket to cool the engine. There must be a topic on this with instructions but I'm not quite sure how to search for it. My searches for "bucket" and "how to run a boat while sitting on the trailer" haven't been very fruitful.

Look up "fake a lake" on google. It looks like this, and all you do is hook up the water hose and go.

Don't run much higher than idle and don't put it in gear but you can certainly run the engine.

fake a lake and idle wont really get things warm enough, go cruise around the lake for 30 minutes and not worry about it.

I extract mine from the dipstick hole. I don't run the engine and prefer to do it cold. Most of the oil drips down into the pan as the engine cools. I'd rather get more of it out than be able to do it faster by warming the oil. Just my .02. However, if you are using the drain hose clipped under there it does take a VERY long time if you don't warm it first.
Then again, when mine comes out you can barely tell it from the new oil going in. Me likey clean oil!My Mom said I'm not allowed to get wet!
