    Default Raptor questions

Seems like the Raptor 400 engine has been used in Moomba boats since 2015. For those of you that have a Moomba with the Raptor 400 how does it perform? Does it have 400 HP or is that based on the 404 lbs of torque. I
a lot of guessing but wondering if anyone really knows.

Seems like last time discussed it was determined the number was based on the torque, I'm sure somebody here has the facts.

    Perhaps Enginenut can chime in.

This motor is a beast. I haven't driven another tow boat yet with this much torque and throttle response

I see it says closed cooling. Does that mean there's no impeller to deal with? Does it not pull water from the lake like the 350Assault motors?

The engine is on a closed cooling system, but the exhaust manifolds, tranny and v-drive are water cooled I do believe.

Although antifreeze circulates through the engine, lake water is still needed to cool the "radiator" head exchanger. So, there is still an impeller to service.

I hope so. I winterized my 2005 LSV with no problems. Can't wait for my new Craz to be built and delivered. Well it is February so I have time
