cant live without mine now, gets even better when you have to back in to a parking a spot and can get right up to a wall or post, not to mention a car with no fear of hitting it

Ed - Into what issues did you run? How did you overcome them? If the same basic water heater model and function, seems that the install task would be straight forward. - Stuart

    Hola Stuart! Happy New Year.

My issues were that the water was too hot. After replacing both thermostats and both heating elements, the water was still way too hot - it was actually dangerously hot.

The typical cause for this is a build-up of minerals on the inside of the tank walks, super insulating the extremely hot water from the thermostat. Thermostat reads water temp simply by being clipped in and resting against the tank.

I replaced a "tall" 40 gallon heater with a shorter, but larger diameter 50 gallon tank.

Very simple install - no soldering necessary with the use of (new to me) Shark Bite connectors.

Edit....IMPORTANT INFO FOR FLORIDA FOLKS...during my research of the product and installation I was informed that one should not solder copper pipes and fittings that are 10 years or older. Our weather degrades the copper and pin holes can result...often where the pipe is not accessible (inside walls).

New Box Anchor for me, can't wait to use it. I had been using my Fluke Slip Ring style anchor I had on my 19 foot Stingray, it worked okay on the Moomba but always struggled with the Supra as the SA is just to heavy. The Box anchor should be awesome!

Oops! Sorry to the folks that bought my last house with the new 50 gal. water heater in the closet under the stairs. I may have inadvertently reused all the old copper when I did the reinstall and learned to solder. Oh well. That's what a home warranty is for.

Yep! Buyer beware, home warranty is good.

As we write this....contractors are ripping out all the copper pipes in all the buildings of the parks my wife manages. Pin holes.

I upgraded to box anchor last year and wish I had one 10 years ago. It is great for holding in current. You will be happy.
