Location of ballast pumps on mondo

Hey I wanted to change the impellers on my ballast pumps. Can only seem to find the through hull intakes. Any idea where the actual pumps are located not the the through hull intakes. Thanks

I would imagine they are located in the same spot as in my craz. At the back of your rear lockers is a panel that's held in by 3 screws. You should find the pumps mounted safely behind those panels.

This is off topic but BrettLee or anyone else that has reproped a 15 or 16 Mondo. What is your top speed with a 2079 prop (no ballast), also I am sure it's a big improvement with all the ballast you run but do you think it cleaned up the surf wake at all?

I was under the impression the acme 2315 or oj 945 props were better for a heavily ballasted boat with the 6.2. They are 15" props, where as the 2079 is only 14.5".

I'll check them out. I spoke to Wake Makers & they suggested the 2079? But I did see the 945 as an option on the 2017 Moomba Mondo build website. I have to admit I can't complain about the stock 14.5 by 14.25 prop. We spent most of our time surfing last summer & when I max out the Ballast the boat had no problem with it (surf edition with 900s in the Rear) but I have not tried to run it fast with full ballast & may never have to at least on our lake. What started this is I want to get a back up prop and thought if it would improve surfing with out losing a lot top end perfect.

I was looking into buying the 2079 as second prop/upgrade from my 945. Turns out the 2079 would be a downgrade from what I have. They are the same pitch but the 945 is a half inch larger. My reaserch brought me to the conclusion that the 2315 is acme's equivalent of the oj 945. As far as I can tell there is no upgrade from there. I run 4200 lbs ballast with the 945 on my craz. It seems to get the job done for surfing, but I have to dump about 20% of my 1100's to get on plane for wakeboarding. I'm not complaining though, the wake is more than I'll ever need, even at half ballast.

Not sure on top speed, as I've never had smooth enough water to WOT it out. Does not clean up surf wave but it's an absolute tank!!!! I love it

From what I saw on my mondo, a 15" prop would be damn near to close for comfort against the gel. I think you would have prop burn for sure. But then again I have a 15. Not sure what changed in newer models.

The 945 is 15" and a factory option. I'd say it's safe if we're both running one with no issues.

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately The boats polished and put away for the winter "cry me a river" but I'll let you know which prop & how it worked next spring.
