Reading these posts makes me glad I went with the 2079! I flipped a coin as everyone seemed to say 1617 was the way to go (including wake makers), but pulled the trigger on the 2079 and it's been awesome. I couldn't get to plane with my stock 537 when fully loaded, but this prop gets me there easily, even when full of passengers as well.

I went with the 1617 and haven't had any complaints. 1100s in rear, stock center, 650 ibs and 400 lbs of steel in the front. Any boat with an uneven distribution ie too much rear weight will struggle getting on plane.

I am glad you saved your money then!! Me and my money are happily parted. Nettles up in Austin has always been a trusted name and I was happy with their recommendation.

Thumbs up for Nettles. Matched online prices.
Just bought a 1433 for my 2007 Supra.
If that does not work, I can exchange for a 1617.

I also live in Canada in the Okanagan at about 380M elevation and just switched last to the Acme 2313 (15x12) Absolutely the best purchase for the boat in recent memory. Wife even noticed and greatly approved. If it was me I'd ensure the prop was at least a 15" variety. I did a WOT run and I'm still at 38mph and that's with wife, two kids and about 600lbs of lead.
Surfing behind boats before it was even a thing!
