Axle failure
Went out to winterize the boat for the year and find that the fender is sitting on the tire. My thought is that the torsion axle has failed. I jacked it up so that the fender isn't resting on the tire anymore but it just stayed stuck. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm looking for help with confirming the problem and how to fix it. Thanks guys!

Might try a search on this topic, back in 2010 there was a lot of chatter on this topic, at that time boat mate would send you the replacement axle but that's it.

Yeah I tried searching axle, torsion spring, etc with no luck. Google got me to some decent info. Sounds like it is a known problem. I would be fine doing the work, just don't want to pay and arm and a leg for a known issue that failed out of warranty

Hey, sure does look like a failed axle. the replace is not too difficult to do your self if you are handy, or have someone to help. It is a known issue, my 2008 went out the year the warranty expired, 2013, i contacted Jerry Jones at boatmate. they sent me 2 replacements, i paid shipping, seems it was $150 to $200. good luck, hope they would help out with the known issue.

I would think Boatmate would send you an axle. If not, I will privately tell you my thoughts if you get in touch.

I had an axle go on me last year on my 2008 trailer. Call boatmate first but they won't help you becomes it's not their issue, but it's good to document. you will need to call dexter axle with the serial number. They sent me 2 brand new axles for free and no shipping. I was super impressed with them and they were out of warranty. I did the work to swap out and it was not too hard. They were raw metal so I paid $100 each to have them line-x ed

Nice! Yeah I talked to boatmate and they sent me to Dexter. Just sent in the form to Dexter. About how long did it take to get the axle shipped to you?

Hmm. Yeah the lady handling warranties sent me a form to fill out. And I ask for the timeline because I need to winterize the boat but it is stuck on the trailer in my garage
