Solenoid Help!!!

My ballast were taking on water (with the switch in the correct position) so I went and bought the replacement Orbit vales. However, the old solenoids have the special clip style adapter. The wires are not marked. I was going to cut and splice, but how do I know which one is which?? Help is appreciated!!!!
