Bent prop shaft mount
Never fails... Just got my boat out of the shop and the day before labor day I take it out and hit a log floating below the water. Now there is vibration when I go above about 2k RPM.
It looks like the mount that holds the shaft right before the prop is bent over to the left a little bit. Probably about an inch or less. Could I try to bend this back? Or does it have to be perfectly aligned professionally? How much should I expect to pay?
Any help it appreciated, it is always something

You'll never get it right. Best to replace the strut with one like from skidim:

You'll need to do an alignment after the replacement. You can do this yourself. There are good instructions found on here:

Bent prop shaft mount
You didn't hurt prop? I hit something this weekend back out of dock of all things. Couldn't go past idle or boat wanted to rattle apart. Had to idle 3 miles back down to launch to pull boat out.

Thanks so much! I actually forgot about this post, googled bent prop shaft, and found this post that was mine in the first place! Haha. I have ordered the strut you mentioned and will try to roll on based on your recommendations. HUGE help!

Also, the log chipped off a piece of the gel coat. Is this a DIY fix? I am not worried about perfection, just want it to be fixed. Otherwise I will take it to a fiberglass shop in town and see what they think.

A shop can fix it pretty cheap and mix colors a lot closer than you can. Check over the whole boat and have them address everything while it's in there. But, have them do it.
