Default Wet Sounds: Issues with brand new XS-650's

I just installed 3 pairs(6 total) of brand new Wetsounds XS-650's powered by 2 SD-6 amps

on each SD-6 amp(one for left side of boat, one for the right side):

    channel 1: 2 XS-650's
    channel 2: 1 XS-650
    channel 3&4: REV10
    channel 5&6: REV10

Everything works perfectly except the XS-650's sound like they have absolutely no highs(treble), they sound "bland".

for trouble shooting so far i have tried:

    -adjust bass/trebble on head unit
-check the HPF/LPF/Full setting on amps, all are set on HPF
-adjust the frequency on crossovers, went from one extreme to the other, it only changed how much mid-bass the speakers produced
-checked input signals, Thinking the head unit had some sort of filter turned on or the RCA's were bad. Took the RCA input from my tower REV10's(channels 3,4,5,6) which play perfectly and plugged them into channels 1&2, same issues

Am I missing something? Do the XS-650's have another terminal/input for the tweeters that I didn't hook up?

***All equipment was purchased from an authorized WS dealer.

That type of wiring setup is going to require someone with some technical knowledge. It's likely an issue there. The 650's are pretty bright.

What type of wattage are you getting to each xs650 and each 10 this way? I can't maths it.

This is the setup, Tim at WS recomended on the WakeWorld forum.

    link to his recomendation:
    http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=806321

    basically:

    channel 1: 2 XS-650's 300W(net 150W each)
    channel 2: 1 XS-650 150W
    channel 3&4: REV10 400W
    channel 5&6: REV10 400W

I consider myself very technical and cannot for the life of me find the issue.

My next step is to go with a headphone to RCA wire and use the headphone jack on my cell phone as the signal for the amps.

The 650s are a bit accentuated in the treble so they're not normally "bland".
Easy enough to cover only the tweeter of a speaker. If the tweeter is operative the change in sound would be obvious.
You can measure the tweeter resistance downstream from the series capacitor to see if the tweeter is 'open'.
All of the tweeters blown? Could be, but hard to do. However, the Wetsounds SD-6 amplifier is serious power. So the correct tuning procedure becomes very important. Hopefully your authorized dealer can take care of you and going forward provide you with detailed instructions.

It does sound as if all the tweeters are blown. The amps at SYN-6, not SD6 (my bad)

But I find it so unlikely that all tweeters would be blown

Good call on covering up the tweeter and seeing what it sounds like

Ok, so you have two (2) Syn-6 amps driving 3 pair of xs-650 and two (2) pair of rev-10? And wired in that manor listed above? Are you sure you dont have the new Syn-DX amps?

Step one, make an appointment with your Wet Sounds dealer/installer and get them to help you with the configuration. You need to start over and likely make an amp change if you do indeed have the old Syn-6 series. If so, you have 200W rms to one rev-10 and 600 to the other.

Next, let them spell out the basic amp settings for you, as well as give you tips on setting the gains.

Gotta blunt here. Youve got a mess and have spent too much money to not have your retailer take part in this setup.

    Let me rephrase the setup:

    2 New SYN-DX6 amps

    channel 6: 2 XS-650's 300W(net 150W each)
    channel 5: 1 XS-650 150W
    channel 3&4: REV10 400W
    channel 1&2: REV10 400W

You can see the power is just right
