    Default Vibration when surfing

    Hello,

New to V-drive's and forum. Have a 2005 LSV. While surfing there is a vibration that is very apparent to everyone in the boat. Its tough to locate where its coming from . My question is there a common bearing that needs replaced on these v-drives? Boat has 265 hours on it. Vibration goes away if you speed up or slow down.

    TIA, cameron

What prop are you running? There were a few OJ props around 14" in diameter that would present a growl at certain RPM's. If you have access to another prop you may want to swap out and see if you get the same result.

I am guessing its the stock prop but I will check and see. Thanks for the quick response.

my old supra had the oj 13x17 and it growled a ton so was not limited to the 14" variants.
switched to acme 1235 and all went away.

Have the oj 13.7x17.25 prop. I will try to swap out and see if the vibration goes away. Any prop recommendations?

It really depends on a lot of factors. The amount of weight you usually run, the size of your typical crew, elevation of your home lake, whether anyone ever slalom skis behind the boat, etc. Call these guys and tell them about your usage and tell them you want the best ACME prop for your application. They will steer you right.

this. I loved the upgrade to the 1235 although it cut a few mph off the top end so be aware of that if you barefoot or need to run at a higher speed to get somewhere. was still able to pull my buddy on a slalom at 35 with some speed left on the table.
