Kite Tube
As of 07/13/2006 the Wego Kite Tube has been recalled. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has told the parent company Sportsstuff to pull these off the market and recall all the ones out there.
For any of those who want to return it call 866-831-5524.
After watching these things in operation, I didn't think they would be around long.

I heard that it's been banned in two of our provinces up here in Canada already. Looks like fun though...

I think that under the right curcumstances it might be relatively safe. Twenty mph into a twenty mph headwind would get you up there with only a twenty mph ground speed. Now doing 40 mph over the water 20 feet up...that's a big fall. I'm just too old for that sh*&#.

Glad to hear that Sportstuff is taking care of this problem. I have friends that were going to be selling their's as the felt it was too dangerous.

If they can implement some type of change that prevents the tube from going more than 2 meters off the water that would probably clear the problem for the most part.. The other half of it is of course that people are driving 15-25 mph faster than instructions recommend.
