    Default Boat registration yearly fees

So I'm curious what you all in other states pay for registration fees.

Mine is as follows in WA:

    Filing fee $3.00
    License fee $10.50
    Watercraft excise tax $119.00
    License service fee $0.75
    Derelict vessel/invasive species removal $6.00
    Service fee $5.00

    Total amount paid $144.25

I looked up the Watercraft Excise tax and it's defined as follows:
What is the watercraft excise tax?
It is a tax on the fair market value of non-commercial boats, 16 feet and over, used on Washington waters. This tax is in lieu of the property tax.

    What rate do I pay?
The rate is .005 of the fair market value. There is a minimum fee of $5.00.

What are the funds used for?
Funds are distributed to the state general fund.
So that means that backing into the numbers, the supposed FMV of my boat is $23,800 (so I'm pretty glad they have my boat undervalued).

My trailer is $26.75 a year in addition to the boat fees.

    What does everyone else pay?

Mine is the same but with a $7 excise fee. Old, old boat. Remember, the excise tax can be written off on your taxes if you do the long form.

Good call. I forgot to get those on my taxes last year. DOH! Just shows that while I'm a CPA, tax is not my specialty.

Seriously? $7? so they're saying your boat is worth $1,400? I mean, yeah, your boat is 10 years older than mine, but that's pretty nuts on the supposed fair market value. I thought mine was low at $23,800 as the FMV of my boat.

I can't exactly recall by boat fees but I think it's like 125 every other year in OR.

Never paid my trailer because it's a 4 year tag and the LSV I sold end of summer the 3rd year and the Mojo had another year left

I registered mine in Idaho because WA *%&ing sucks at life. Cost me $58 a year and my trailer was $40 for a 5 year plate. 
I also paid sales tax for Idaho to avoid WA rape tax. Haha

In Texas, Parks and Wildlife only charges $53/yr for my boat renewal.
Texas DOT requires annual trailer inspection and license renewal, which is about another $50.

6.25% tax is charged at the time of boat purchase.

I paid $43 in Louisiana last month for a 3 year registration/sticker renewal. They charge by length. Here is a link to the application, if you look at the bottom of the last page, they have the fee schedule. http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/sites/d...pplication.pdf
