If you want an option besides wake makers kit. I went to Home Depot and purchased c channel aluminum, stainless steel hardware, and can of good spray paint. Total cost of $16 bucks. So far so good. I will get a full bag picture this weekend.

Looks good but you do need to add some more bolts. You need to have a bolt at each end of the beam (i.e. top and bottom).

I bet you are right. I bought extra thinking i may have to add but wanted to give it a test run first.

Basic mechanics/statics here. You are making a beam that must be fixed at the end points, a middle bolt doesn't really do anything for you here. Here's an exaggerated pic of your setup:
