The first time I pulled mine, I like to never got it off. It took a lot of "pursuading" to get it to let go of the harmonic balancer. I just worked it back and forth and I sprayed it with WD40 and left it over night. If you do this, make sure you do not get it on the belts! After I finally removed it, I sanded the edges of the water pump with a real fine sand paper. I also sanded inside the harmonic balancer. I then gave it a lite coat of WD 40 and put it back together. This year, I unbolted it and it slid right off with minimal effort. It seems that the first one is the only difficult one. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Mine was pretty hard to take off as well. I ended up pulling the whole pump off the engine and then coaxing it out. Hope it is not this hard next time.
