Default Tis the season for Stereo Updates

Wanted to share a simple clean install.
Since 13 when we got the boat I did the original install, it was clean looking and simple, I say simple because there is no LEDs, or fans, or anything like that.
I like simple clean installs myself.

I upgraded all my amps last summer, and the new Exile Digi Amps are much smaller. The older A/B style amps I had mounted, I cut out the backs on the panel to allow the amps to breath more and stay cool.

Last summer on 4th July weekend at LBC we were soaking towels to keep the amps cool enough to run. They kept going into Protection.
When I returned to P Town first thing I did was go to Exile and get new gear. Being the middle of Summer I wasn't going to down the boat for a weekend so I slapped them in and got back on the water.

This winter I was planning on taking it apart and re-doing everything. Life has a way of changing your plans, since Jan we have been planning this move and doing that so I have no time to work on my stereo. Recently I hurt my back pretty bad again so i have no business being under dash boards lol.

Luckily Ryan < Newty > stepped up and helped me out the other day.

My main goal was to re-position the sub to add more flair and pop. I never liked the big carpet box I had.
The other was to get the amp rack looking clean again with the new amps.

Ryan did some really clean work and was very through about it all.
I highly recommend him for any custom work you need done, stereos, carpet, towers, what ever. He can do it.

The rack was build with enough room to box it in and add my LEDs, fans, and other things later. This is my base to work off of and I am pretty happy about how it came out.

Pulling the Big 15 Sub out was a chore.

Got the fascia back on it, drilled the hole for the sub.

Found this all alluminum grill for long throw subs, cut the center out and painted it 5 coats of satin black.

    Nice clean new amp rack.

HAHA that was my teaser box actually.

I had it in the cubby but only water is in it. I know some think Coors Light is water but this was real bottled water LOL.

He has a case of some CC something Lager, it wasn't bad but it had a kick to it at 5%

I was trying to find the name, CCR Lager is all that comes to mind but I have never seen or heard of this stuff. It had a little bite to it, but not bad, once you got past the first one they would go down easy. I haven't been drinking too much this year as I am really focused on my weight, health and 2 beers had me buzzing pretty good.

Very nice! Sub looks like a monster.

Over the years, I guess they went from 2 cupholders to 1 cupholder for the driver :/

I've always liked the look of a forward firing sub. I like to see what my hard earned money is spent on. I've seen that flaming sun grill before. Definitely good that you painted it black.

Are you still going to be doing some LED stuff? When is that happening?

Oh, and seeing all you guys with the super clean amp racks is reinforcing the fact that my surface mounted wiring (regardless of how tidy) looks like sh** in comparison. But then I close my locker door and forget about it. Maybe someday I'll clean mine up too. But that's WAY low on the list.
