    Default FAE Install help

I've got a call into the fine folks at FAE for some help but being Sunday it may be slim pickings, which I completely understand. For the initial step of drilling the holes through the plastic exhaust and metal insert, did you drill the holes with everything on the boat or remove the screws and then drill? I started to unscrew everything and started to pull the plastic off but seeing as how it was tight I figured I better ask before I do something I may regret later.

I'm a visual learner and the instructions leave a few blanks so I will likely have more questions coming. For those of you with the side mount, where did you position the square tube in relation to your brackets? As always if pictures are available, I am grateful. Thank you all for the assistance and the patience lol. MMandley's nice writeup was helpful, I'm just not off the ground yet.

    Default FAE Install help

I didn't remove anything from the boat to install. Do these pics help at all?

I didn't use the metal rings for the exhaust. On my LSV they came apart and are at the bottom of the lake.

I just put the rubber over the plastic exhaust flange and put screws through the rubber and plastic. Then a band clap over those to ensure they cannot back out.

Thanks for the tips and pics. They did provide some help if not confidence as I am now at the stage of cutting the tubes of the quick release so it appears to be the home stretch. Now I need the weather to cooperate to get outside and finish it.
