Default Speedometer potentiometers on a 2008 outback

Ok guys, found my son messing with the potentiometer dials attached to the speedometers on my boat. I dont know where they were before hand so Im looking for some help and some info. What do they do? And how do I set them up? Ohm meter? And if so, where should they be set. Thanks in advance.

Use a GPS receiver to calibrate. If you don't have a handheld or can't borrow one use an app on your phone. GPS speed is good to about 1/10th of a knot. Check it at different speeds but calibrate it to a speed you use most or somewhere in the mid or upper mid range.

Awesome. Thanks man. I own a gps and will do in the spring. Unfortunately the season here is done. Just finished winterizing.
