    Default Is this air lock??

Hey everyone. I have a question on filling my ballast. Every time we go to the lake the ballast system doesn't want to work tight off the get go. So my solution to date has been to unscrew the water strainer just a bit and it seems to bubble air and water out. I screw it back on tight and it pumps as it should. Is this air lock? If so, what should I do to correct this. Rather a pita to keep doing this with a boat full of people.

    Thoughts?

    Richard

Yep, it's an airlock problem with the old aerator style pumps. My 08 does the same thing and you can loosen the strainer to burp the system as your saying, or often times getting up to 20+ mph and toggling the switch on a few times will prime it. I'll take the fill hose off the center ski locker bag while I'm doing this so I can see when it's primed.

Thanks. I will give it a try at 20 mph next time. Worst case, I will keep doing the strainer thing.

    Thanks for the reply.
