packing gland
Around how many hours should the packing last on a 2001 Moomba with 353 hours on it. Thanks.

packing gland
Until it starts to leak!! There really is no way to tell. There are all sorts of packing rope that could be there. It also depends on if someone put the packing nut too tight causing it to ware too fast. The way I gauge it was how close is the packing nut to the locking. The closer it is the less time you have before changing it. I always carried a spare piece on the boat and if I ran out of adjustment Just put in another piece and change all of it when you get a chance.

I left off how close is packing nut to the locking nut when you back off the locking nut and run it down the shaft. If you loosen the locking nut and there is no room to loosen it then you are out of adjustment

Being a new boat owner of a 2001 Moomba Kamberra with a 5.7 Indmar Assault Engine with EFI I would like to change the fuel filter but I can't find it. Where about is it. Thanks.
