Tongue weight?

Can someone with a LSV, XLV, or Mojo tell me what their tongue weight is? Not a wild guess please.

Trying to figure out the weight limits and cargo capacity of a tow vehicle.

To get an accurate number, you need to weigh yourself and then weigh yourself holding the tongue up. lol

You can use a bathroom scale and a four foot long 4X4 post. Lay one end of the post on the scale. Place a block under the 4X4 three feet away from the scale. Zero out the scale. Set the tongue on the 4X4 two feet away from the scale. Multiply the scale reading by three. That will be your tongue weight.

The method above works well. If you don't have the boat, you can take 10-15% of the combined boat & trailer weight as a good approximation. I want to say that my '15 Mojo is about 600 lbs.

I know for a Fact the Mojo is a heavy nosed girl.
on my 1 Ton F350 she squatted the rear 3 inches. Had to get Air Bags to level out
On my 13 F150 she squatted the rear 4 inches. Even with 100lb Air bags if I added anything more then the boat she squated.
On my Current 3/4 Ton Ram she squats it about 3 inches, until the truck self levels.

I'm guessing the tongue weight is 600-700lbs. Big Wide nose, and it sits really fare up on the trailer compared to most boats.
Monday I go to WTW and I pass a scale, Ill put my rear axle on it then disconnect the boat real fast and see what it weighs with out the boat connected. Maybe that will help more.

525 lbs for my XLV. It makes my Ridgeline squat 2.25" at the rear axle. I originally used a Class III Reese ball mount (rated for 500 lbs), but a friend watching from further away saw it bending under load! Then I weighed it. Since there were no marginally better Class III mounts available locally, I switched to a Class IV mount.

Tongue weight should be calculated as 10% of total towed weight( trailer boat and cargo on boat, gas etc)

I agree with the above, assuming the trailer is level with the road.
