Ballast fill trouble?
I have a new 06 XLV and I noticed that everytime I want to fill the ballast bags. I have to go to the back and remove the hoses and prime the pumps. It looks like there is an airbubble that is in the screen filter that makes the pumps cavitate. Once I mess with them some I get water going and then I pop the hoses back on. Anyone having the same issues and if so what are you doing that I'm not. I plane the boat out as well and this still doesn't fix it.

Might want to check the fill pump itself. Could be that it sucked something up that partially damaged the impeller keeping it from priming on it's own. Once it gets primed it may still work but only at a reduced capacity.

everytime you pull the boat in and out of the water it is going to loose prime naturally. After you leave the no wake zone turn on ballast pumps and accellearate forward, then stop abrubtly so that water slams into the back of the boat. Try this a couple of time and it will prime your hoses.

The boat naturally looses prime when you take it in and out of the water. After re-entering water and leaving no wake zone, turn on ballast bags and try accellearting and stopping quickly to allow water to push up into the intake. Do this a couple of times and your bags should start filling up.

I had the same problem
Accelerate to 25-30 MPH then rapidly turn your ballast pumps on and off (about 10-15 times). This forces out any air pockets in the line, and has worked for me every time. Beats unhooking the lines.
