    Default SXTs or XMs?

I have a pair of each, powered by 2 XM30.2's. I love the setup - easy to tweak to get awesome short and long range sound

I think this is going to depend on what your budget is and what your looking for performance wise. The 2015 XM9's feature a new upgraded crossover setup that the wakeboarder will enjoy (I think Mike is running those and could provide some comment). It provides smoother sound from the generations of the model, yet is still optimized for long distance projection out to the rider. XM9 is also available in white for those looking for a white boat match.

The SXT9Q is what I call the "surf model" and is going to utilize a direct radiating tweeter that provides for more sound quality up close but will diminish over long distance. Because the tweeter is a coincident mount system, the mid bass driver is sealed and has improved performance over its pro-axial XM9 brother.

Both models come with the storage bags and 360 degree stainless steel spin clamps. They are not any additional cost.

My take is: Review how much amplifier power you have... If your light on the power side of things, I'd go SXT or get a bigger amplifier to feed XM9's. Going with 4 speakers in either model gives you the ability to spread the sound field wider. This would be more important with the XM9 as the projection is more focused.

    Hope that helps!

Just one quick sound check and I'm absolutely sure I made the right decision with the 4 XM9s. They are exactly the upgrade I was looking for - thanks for all the input!

Yes, went with a metallic silver to match the tower.
