    Default Exile XM30.2 Amp Question....

For those using the Exile 30.2 amp with Exile tower speakers -

did you tune your amp exactly like the "xm30installsheet062514.pdf" suggests or did you have to tweak it at all?

First, I would not assume that the amp is coming out of the box with the switches in the correct position. 2nd, too many variables to use a one-size-fits-all tune. Speaker size, type, use, head-unit line level, pre-amp line level, music source quality, etc, etc.

I agree - but I presume that the Exile instructions showing where the switches should be set are correct.

You should check out these instructions I speak of - they illustrate many configurations of typical Exile speaker set-ups and how to adjust the amp for them.

They just come with a basic set up preset. Its not going to match every ones system. Just gets you up and running. I would suggest you still get it tuned properly

I have seen the instructions. I wouldnt presume anything. If you look at the 2 manuals, you will see one huge glaring contradiction. If you look at the arbitrary setting for the 5 chnl amp, there is an enormous gap in the suggested tuning.

So take them with a grain of salt and not as an absolute.

I don't think you have seen the instructions.

The instructions I am referencing are only for the XM30.2 and it is a 2 channel amp.

    I like kosher salt.

You are always welcome to come to Clermont and have a tuning clinic. I can get you dozens of attendees.

Mike, I have to rely on the tuning info I have been given by others. Due to age and nerve damage in my ears, I can't even hear the birds chirping in my back yard.

    That's ok.

Can't read that stuff now - have to go trim hedges and cut down banana trees.

I'm not kidding about the tuning clinic. Lots of serious boaters in Clermont.

I'm sure the local Malibu dealer would sponsor it.
