Default minimizing number of speakers on the tower

    Just curious....

anyone ever start off with 4 speakers on the tower, then reduce the number to two (one for each channel) and be happy with the sound quality??

Don't the boats come from the factory with just two?

I know lots of people that have gone from 2 pair of 6.5" to one pair of 8" or 10" or from two pair of 8" to a single pair of 10". The trick is going larger.

Did exactly this. Plenty for me.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

This begs to ask the question,

If you had Surf wave with 1100 Rears would you go to 400 rears and be happy?

For its, its always GO Bigger. I run 6 xm9s and can't imagine having only 4 now. I also can't imagine lowing my surf ballast to make a smaller wave and being happy.

Had 2 1 Ton Diesel long bed trucks, traded and got an F150, smaller truck, short bed wasn't cutting it, now I am back in a big truck..

Wait one second Mike. I thought you where only going to have 4 on your tower then the wife said "I think we need another set" At that point Brian pulled out another pair and said "Come on Mike you have to follow the wife's advice". Now you have 6.

Thats right I was going to keep it even. Now remember in my mind I was upgrading from XM7 and SXT7 to 4 XM9s. Then the wife upgraded it even more.

No way I would drop down to 4 now. We had to run 4 at Powell due to a crew member <who shall remain nameless> stripped out my clamps.
