I left it folded down, I was able to get enough slack in the existing wire where I could push the new wire and pull the old wire at the same time.

LOL short answer is yes............brand is different though...........wife is a surgical nurse and they use a similar product in surgery amazing how much crap comes home with her in her pockets out of the surgery room
