Starter Questions

I have a 2008 LSV with the 325 MPI Indmar Engine.

1. Where is the starter located?

2. What is the Starter Bendix and where is this located?


When trying to start it is just not catching like it should and takes a couple of attempts to get the starter going and get it started. I recently changed both batteries so I know it's not that.

any ideas?

Starter is lower starboard side, goofy side.

Bendex is the mechanism that forces the starter gear to make contact with your flywheel.

If your thinking of replacing this, I would have a trained person rebuild it. I personally rebuilt starters a long time ago but never dealt with the bendex

Easier to buy a new starter, skidm.com...

I tried fixing a Bendix once, those suckers are hard to get off and back on without the correct tools..
