Should I just leave the box sealed or should I throw four 3" aero ports in it at about a 5" length

LOL shouldn't be that loud, I live on 60 acres so tuning it won't bother anyone. Got the subs on close out for $10 each and figured wth who wouldn't want 8 12s in their truck??

I had 8 12s in a custom box in the bed of my GMC Sierra ported to the cab. I think they were Audiobahn & matching amp. It hit so hard and rattled the shit out of bed. It got pretty annoying after a few weeks. Actually now that I think about it, I think I had 12 12s. My dumb high school years lol

Yeah think I'll just keep it sealed, much easier and cheaper to build

With a good, high Xmax 12-inch subwoofer, a 3-inch I.D. round port is just too small. More port velocity means more noise and more compression at high output levels. So four 3-inch ports for the collective surface area of eight 12-inch subs would be a colossal mismatch. Maybe it won't even matter with a Dual subwoofer.
But I would stay sealed. You are going to benefit from cabin gain in a vehicle anyway. The optimum enclosure will be smaller and sealed is far less prone to a design error.
With eight 12-inch subs the number one issue will be the execution of the enclosure.

    David,
don't think you read the whole post
60acres to tune on is good, but glad I dont' live next to you as you come home each day from work, or sit next to you in traffic and, although can't hear the music clear, get to listen to you rattle every loose nut and bolt off that thing.
like Brett mentioned.. dumb high school years

I read it again and again and again. It still does not compute.
