    Default Questions about Moderator Duties

I am NOT trying to rock the boat or create any type of mutiny with this question - I'm just really curious - especially after having been a moderator for way too long.

Why do we keep the same moderators for life?

Why can't we rotate moderators every year so everyone has an equal chance of contributing to how this forum is governed.

I see a lot of the new members have some great ideas on forum administration.

    thoughts?

I suggest every June 21st we should nominate and vote for new moderators.

Did you change your Profile name or something because it seems you've only been on the forum for less than a year. I'm not trying to rock the boat either but you have twice the post I have and I "feel" like you haven't contributed as much.

Put up with guys like Ed. For a little while anyway.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

Thats pretty much the bulk of their duty, they ban the spammers, delete the offensive, way off track or seriously argumentive threads, posts.

Its a very thankless position that us normal listed members don't realize.

    Change is good.

If someone didn't question the status quo way back when, we all would be speaking the queens English.

Just speaking for myself - being a moderator carries a lot of juice and there are some pretty handsome discounts on watersports equipment available.

I think others ought to be given the same opportunity.

As I said, I was just curious how others felt about the idea of moderator rotation.

    This...

Ed, take some advice and enjoy the forum for what it is. no need to let a new group of Moomba owners know who slipperyrock WAS.

SandM, I'm an open book with nothing to hide.

I am most definitely not trying to force any changes. I think the majority of the moderators are doing a fabulous job ( I am the one who recruited them).

I was just presenting an idea for the future.
