I Took Thursday Off To Do Some Experimenting With Some Folks at the Discovery Channel
Our dive rescue crew took time off from our regular jobs to support the testing of a tsunami rescue pod by dumping it over a 200 foot waterfalls. This is our second effort as we did one in January that was a complete failure. This time we used a helicopter to airlift the crews, boat and pod into place. Everything went well but the initial data results shows vast improvements needs to be made before a person goes in it. The website has some pictures and videos. My girlfriend enjoyed it as she had her first helicopter ride.
One comment was made that the helicopter pilot landed the boat on the trailer better than some of the crew that loads it on the water.
