Trying to decide that now. Might start out with cheap Rockford stuff in front of wet sounds amps.

Now you are comparing a traditional coaxial to an HLCD. Total different speaker, thus total different price range. Wet Sounds offers a coaxial, the Icon-8. Less expensive then the Rev-8 you inquired about and would be a more accurate comparison to the Rockford in terms of size, use, power handling, etc. And yes, the Wet Sounds fixed and swivel clamps are universal.
A coaxial is better suited for near field listening like surfing and party cove. An HLCD like the Rev-8, is better suited for wake range projection.
A couple pairs of Kicker KM65 are also a good performing coaxial setup.Last edited by MLA; 12-07-2014 at 09:27 PM.

Can the HLCD also be short range or only good to blast out 30+ ft, etc?
