Ahh.. If you go with the 3/4 the self tapping stainless screws from the platform may be too long? That's why I went with the 1in stuff, not to mention it doesn't flex. Pre drill the holes, makes the install easier, then install the hydro in case you mess up and drill thru..

Wow so you just did SS screws from the bottom? I wouldn't think on those 1/4" diameter screws there would be enough bite to keep the platform from snapping off. There are 12 total though. That would be pretty clean.
Right now the stock platform is held on by carriage bolts. Not sure if that is stock? The bolts are WAAAY too long for job on the stock platform.

So the stock xlv uses carriage bolts to attach to the platform to brackets?

My platform takes a lot of abuse and use and I have no issues with the screws. All three of my moombas are/were setup this way from the factory..

    Think they're 1/8 or 1/4? x 1in stainless, self tapping.

Seemed to be stock. They were under the old hardened pad, that I since replaced, on the platform. The bolts were at least 2" past the brackets hanging down and fastened with nylon and SS nuts. I used jam nuts to get a few of them off with no problems. The carriage bolts make some nice bumps under the pads which I am ready to not have any more.
Did you screws tap into fiber glass? The HDPE is pretty soft compared to glass.

The hdpe is stronger, the platform is foam filled covered with fiberglass/gel coat.

Makes sense. The carriage bolts look like crap and I hit my head on one once when swimming under to check something.

My oem xlv platform had ss screws. No carriage bolts. Used ss screws just like above, though with 3/4" I put a hope spacer between the bracket and the platform.

Ss screws have been holding just fine.

I will be replacing the carriage bolts of death with the screws for sure. I made measurements from a CRAZ swim platform on Saturday so that's what I will end up with. Good by dragging platform.
