Any experienced kayakers here?
Question for ya...
yesterday I was out on my lake goofing around in a kayak and I managed to roll the darn thing and I fell out.
How does one get back into a kayak in deep water?
The kayak I have is plastic, with an oval opening and top of opening is pretty much level with your rib cage when you are sitting in it.
I wasn't that far from shore and I was able to swim the thing in and get it emptied of water.

Were you going through the slalom course when it tipped over?
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

We found when kayak surfing that it much easier to get back into the kayak off the platform located at the back of the boat. You do have to wait for the boat to come back around and stop rather than just catching the wake when we lose it but don't fall out of the kayak
