Tranny cover missing possibly?

So I was replacing my perfectpass throttle cable and looked down and noticed this opening under my valves?!? Is this normal? I never noticed it before?

Did you replace or move the ballast pumps? There's a small plate that covers it, mine fell off after I removed the stock ballast system. Check the bilge area, it's just a small plate and gasket held on with screws..

I did! Haha Didn't even realize it. I think I'm going to cut an old license plate to make a new cover. I still have my old one but don't see a gasket?

Think it's more to keep water out than in. Mine just had paper gasket on it.. Auto zone sells it in sheets or gasket maker..
