Slow speed wakeboard ballast for 2012 Mojo at 20mph
I am looking for advise on how to weight my new 2012 Mojo for novice wakeboarders. I want to be able to pull my wife and newbie friends below 20.5 mph with clean wakes. This was very possible on my previous 2007 Moomba LSV, but even with no ballast in the Mojo, my wakes at 20 MPH wash out on both sides from time to time during a pull. I have the boat weighted evenly side to side by adding about 150 lbs to the rear right sac. My wakeplate is at 50% and tow rope is 55-60 feet. No additional ballast. Any recommendations on how to get the wake clean? Or is it not possible at this speed for this boat.

It will be very difficult to clean up the wake on the pre 15 Mojo's under 22ish. Wake is VERY finicky side to side.

Wow! 22 is pretty fast for a novice or kids. I do agree that the wake is quite good past this speed. I thought I was doing something wrong below 22mpr. Does anyone have a different experience with slower speeds? I have a young son that will be learning to ride soon. I hope I didn't buy the wrong boat!

Slow speed wakeboard ballast for 2012 Mojo at 20mph
My son started wake boarding at 4 behind the mojo. Learned to get up using a surf rope then back to 65 feet at 15mph. Wake was not clean. Worked him up to 18-19 mph now. You can clean up one side pretty good at those speeds but you will not have it clean on both sides.

Adjust the plate down or up? I am assuming all the way down to flatten out the wake?

Down will stiffin the wake and cause it to be less inclined. I pull newbies around 18-19 with my plate 3/4 to all the way down and have stuff wake.

I run full front or center. What ever is stock. Run about 200 each rear side and wake plate at about 3/4 if your looking at it like a gas gauge. Speed is 20.8. Rope is 70ft. Never tried faster but wake is clean as long as I have people situated right.

After some more testing, I can now run at 20- 20.5 mph with no ballast and the plate at 50%. The wake is clean as long as the people are in the right place. If I speed up to 21.5 plus stock and up, the boat is much less sensitive.
