    Default Fuel gauge

Last weekend the boat (2006 Mobius LS) was showing 1/8-1/4 tank when up on plane..... Empty when not moving. Okay.... Time to head back.... And call it a day right....

Well, on way home I stop and fill the tank and it takes 20.5 into the 34 gallon tank..... Really would like to garner a better feel for how much fuel is left.....

Need some help on ideas to rectify..... Or a ball park on hourly fuel consumption.... I know ovaries on what you are doing..... But an average or starting point or gauge solution would be a big help....

    Thanks

Subscribed. Similar gauge issues. I know very little about ovaries beyond 8th grade health class though.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

    Damn spell check.... Ovaries =varies

Is it a float..... Or are there sensors..... Much like a rv tank..... If I know how it was measured..... I am sure I can figure out a fix....

Berg, you're killing me. I too just got looks from the wife and kids as I'm laughing out loud at my phone...

On a side note, my gas gauge acts about the same. I've been keeping track of fuel burn as I top off each time I get gas. I've been averaging right at 4.3gph burn. That's from a wide assortment of usage on each tank, i.e. Wakeboarding, surfing, tubing, kneeboarding, skiing, cruising, varying amounts of people 4-8, etc. No matter how I mix things up, I'm always right around 4.3gph. So, I personally plan for 5gph just to be on the safe side, kind of a worse case scenario. I keep a log with the hours and gallons added on the Notes app on my phone.
I'd still like an accurate, functioning fuel gauge though...

Perhaps the real problem is that the gauge just goes down WAY TOO FAST. "WTH - it was completely just a while ago?!"

    Sadly it probably works perfectly.

Other thing is I've found conflicting documentation on mine as to whether it is a 30 or 40 gallon tank. Still don't have an answer. Most I've ever put in is around 25. I would like to run it completely out sometime and finally find out - also find out how far I can push my luck when it's getting close to E. Do I really have another hour left - 2 maybe? Or more like 15 minutes.

Spec reads 3r gallon.... Usually I'm putting 20-22 in..... I to would like to run empty to know.... And log all info.... But don't want to be stranded either.... Lol

Ya, I'd be concerned about the "deck" angle as well. When it starts sputtering "everyone to the front of the boat...no wait...to the back". Then pull out the one collapsible orange oar and rethink things...

I am a notorious bad typer with fat fingers on touch screen... My spec says 34 gal tank..... But I never put in more than 20-22 on edit....

I have navionics app.... Where u can put fuel consumption estimate in.... I put in 4.5 gph will be in the boat for 11 days straight..... So I will see how accurate it is and adjust at fill ups...... And then push my luck to see how much is in the tank.... After it reads empty....

I'll do this all if I remember...... Remember..... I will be in the water and camping for 11 days.... Lol
