    Default Mid-season check list

OK, for almost everybody we have reached at least mid-season. We will be out till late October but try to get out by March or April. I thought it might make sense to offer up some mid season checks that you do to avoid missing time on the water as the season dwindles down.

Some things are obvious and you should be checking more frequently:

OIL, Trans Fluid, V-drive fluid, wakeplate fluid reservoir, trailer brake fluid, trailer tire pressure, hub grease

But what other things to you check or should you have your eye on. Please post your helpful suggestions below.

    I would add:

Drive shaft coupler bolts, engine alignment, winch strap, and fire extinguisher.

    Your thoughts???

I've done all you've listed. Have also cleaned the bilge area and am in the process of replacing a ballast drain pump. Of course need to keep on top of waxing and keeping everything clean.

After a bit of bashing and cranking stereo vibrations it may be time to check the tightness of :
    Tower Bolts
    Racks
    Speaker Screws
    Gauges, Dash Hardware
    Windshield frame?
    Grab Handles
    Compartment Hinges
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

Speaking of dash bolts. This spring there as a few bolts and a bracket on the floor in front of the drivers seat. Found out it belonged to the digital display when I touched it and it fell into the dash lol

Also tie downs get loose so I tighten them a couple times a season.

you do realize that just an hours drive south of you there is no "mid season". My crew likes the months of December thru February the best. Water is cooler (65) and the crazies are off the lake.

Ever since BoatMate went with the trailer guide poles that bolt on, I have to tighten them frequently

Steering wheel screws are a good thing to check... once they go they go fast.

My right knee hurts to walk on, my lower back is tighter than a piano string, and my left shoulder works sometimes. A steady rotation of Tylenol, Ibuprofen , and tequila should get me through the remainder. Hard to believe its already mid season...

Also, remember to check trailer spare tire pressure as well as they're often overlooked. I make it a habit whenever I do an oil change in one of my vehicles, I check the spare tire pressure. They don't help much when they're out of air...
