New to Forum but have had the boat 6 yrs. 2003 moomba outback 310HP
It came with this prop and I'm thinking its time to upgrade that to a 4 blade. Going to get the boy who's 7 into wake boarding. Hes a pretty solid little wrestler for me now lol. Here are some pics and please give me your thoughts. I have a couple blue transom lights on the way as well. I also plan on doing some led lights in the boat itself along with new gauge lights. I have always tweaked out my vehicles so mine as well do the boat. Going to take it in for service as its not idling good and dies often under idle. First time we have had it in the water in 3 yrs was this past weekend. My mom loved to go to our cabin but had gotten very sick so we kinds gave that up a few yrs. Plan on getting back into it though since the boys older and wants to try boarding. Thanks and any info and feedback would be great.

I wouldn't be worried about changing props to pull a 7 year old. Glad to hear you are getting back on the water.
My Mom said I'm not allowed to get wet!

I agree with Kane's assessment, for that small a guy there is no need to change props.......now if you are starting to think about surfing with increased ballast as well then you might want to also think about changing props. If you are thinking in those terms, a simple call to Nettles or Wakemakers should get you what you need.
I see the boat is registered in IL -- whereabouts are you?Mike

Thanks. I have some older nephews also that weigh 180 so it would be more for them and myself if I decide to give the wake board a try after 20 yrs lol. We are located in Chenoa but the boat is at Shnnon shores near south willmington.

It has a 3 blade on it now and runs about 50 mph I would say. Forgot to check with GPS yesterday under full power. The guy we bought it from wanted more top end so he changed the prop out. I thought it came with a 4 blade prop factory on the 2003 outback 31-hp but maybe wrong on that?

Unless you really want a new prop, I would try the old one first. Chances are it should do the trick unless you are loading up on ballast too.
And welcome back to the water, I don't think you (or your son or nephews) will ever look back on that as a bad decision -- probably the opposite......."Dad why haven't we taken this awesome boat out before now???"Mike
