Default Trailer wheel centers - it's the simple things

Not sure what the stock wheels on newer trailers look like for centers, but mine have always bothered me.

I've never liked the look of the hub sticking out, especially an obnoxious color like my yellow. Always looks dirty and any time you take a wheel on or off every little ding and chip shows. Even after I touched them up during my bearing/brake job I can see them already getting dinged up...

So for about $30 and 30 minutes I did a quick little "mod" I guess you could call it. Cleaned it up nicely and still have easy access to the bearing buddies. It's the simple things in life!

So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

yep........ I needed some immediate gratification since other projects around here have been painfully drawn out or derailed.

They're just open ended center caps - like you'd see on a 4wd with manual front hubs. Lot cheaper than going with custom wheels!

Somewhat related question, is that supposed to be a see through window for checking the bearing oil level?

Mine are the grease vault style vs oil bath. I have seen semi-see through caps for checking bearing oil level on some trailers though like this - was on a Mastercraft.

I was thinking about whipping up a few pies, but decided this would be more productive.
