sorry, but another ballast draining question...

was out with a friend in is xlv. After surfing the center ballast quit draining when it was still 1/2 full. We could not get it to drain. we could fill but not empty. the red light on the switch was on. When we pulled the boat out, water was draining out from the water intake under the boat. it just kept draining and draining. We found out that the water was draining from the center ballast through the sprinkler valve and then out of the boat. To me this sounds like the sprinkler valve is stuck open. The little black switch on the sprinkler valve was in the right position. I think he just needs to replace the sprinkler valve, what do you guys say? Thanks for the help.

Yep. It's like $12 for the orbit at home depot so if that doesn't fix it he won't be out an arm and a leg.

But, can you hear the drain pump running? It's right there in the center locker at the rear. Sometimes my bags twist or shift and it smashes the drain line or kinks it and it wont drain or prime.
