EQ mounting
Can anybody snap a photo of how they are mounting their eq? I'm gonna install the wet sounds unit under the dash area but don't really see a good sturdy way to attach it. Thanks in advance.

I pulled nuts off the back of the gauge mounts and hung some brackets down from there. Then screwed/minibolted it to the brackets. Gotta be a little creative but it can be done.

Yea, the thing is so light that you just have to hang it from each side and get it snug up under the bottom of the dash. It won't go anywhere and looks great.

I used (2) little galvanized tabs as backers. (2) nuts and bolts later...

Can't see the whole thing in this pic, but it's the only one I have on my work computer showing where I mounted mine. Not sure if your boat has the same layout, but I like that it is close to the throttle.

if you want something super solid use L brackets on the steering wheel bolts and mount to them, it puts the eq under the wheel , which could be a disadvantage to some, buts it rock solid.

It's a small piece of composite board we had laying around. In the pictures you can see there is a thin piece of fiberglass behind the dash right at the bottom. We mounted the L brackets to a thin piece of wood just to create a template and marked the holes for drilling. To be safe, we took a thin piece of metal (flashing) that was flexible and bent it so it would go between the fiberglass and the dash - we didn't want to accidentally drill through the dash. The fiberglass is curved, so we couldn't get screws in every mounting hole of the brackets, but 2 out of 3 on each bracket (3 total) works fine and is very sturdy. We mounted the brackets to the fiberglass first, then the board to the brackets, and finally mounted the EQ in after a good bit of shifting and positioning to make sure it looked right from the front. Holds up very well and is sturdy enough to give my knee a good bump or two when I jump up and cheer for someone behind the boat!
