    I'll add it to my list. Looks like it is about an hour and a half for me depending on traffic (73 miles)

    the surf rope to keep them close to help get up for the first time sounds like an ok idea. I've never taken that approach. Once they get up I start at 16 and the longest line possible to give them plenty of room between the wakes to move around and the water will be smoother way back too.

    We've taken this approach in the past as well. We pulled the 5 yo's 15 or so I think and at the longest length.

    I've had best success sitting in the water with beginners so I can be right there explaining and usually positioning them into a seated position. The little ones I usually hold the board for so they can relax.
