Aerator Pump Change - Possible Issues?

Looking at changing my fill pump configuration - going with separate thru hulls. Hesitating to pull the trigger on parts because of a possible priming issue?

The original shared setup has never given me any issues. So I'm sure Option A would be fine. Wondering about Option B - little cleaner and takes less space but will it work? Would still be down low in the bilge but taller than A.



Been looking for sample pics of other aerator fill pumps mounted but not coming up with much.

Can't really try it out and then change because the thru hull location would most likely be in a different spot whether going with A or B and I prefer the measure 5x, drill once approach down there...


ADDED: Don't have room to go with a 90 right off the thru hull into the valve then to the pump...

It should work both ways. The weight of the boat should force air through the pump and allow water to flow. Most of the time it should just auto prime without and issues.

Are those T1200's? If so, there's a version that has 1" inlet threads to thread right into the thru-hull. If you don't want to buy new pumps, it looks like you can cut another inch off the inlets on the pumps you have. Another option is to use Rule 1100's. On those, you'd be able to use a 90 off the valve and still screw on the pump because the pump body can turn independently from the threaded inlet so the outlet won't hit the hull when you screw it in.

Ain't broke but doesn't fill evenly. Port side hogs the flow by about 2:1 when they both run at the same time. So balancing evenly for wakeboarding = your guess is as good as mine.

Yes, T-1200's. No plans to replace them as of yet. But good idea - may cut down the inlet side if needed for clearance. I'm leaning towards A. Hasn't let me down yet. Just wish I had another 3" of space in the bilge to work with.

What size thru hull?

Option A will also let you add a second pump if you need it. I have been having a little trouble getting my pumps to prime. I went with "weaker" check valves this year which seems to help some. Both of mine look more like Option A.

1" thru hulls & lines. Running just one pump at a time they're fine. But I've found as the kids are getting better or we have guests who can ride I'm filling up more. Would be really nice to have them going equally and faster. I do like the idea of being able to expand later too.
