Hawkeye Depth Sounder
Okay so I have a hawkeye on my boat, when I turn it on it reads 0.0 no matter what. Every now and then it will read depth but it only lasts for 10 seconds at most and I cant guarantee it's accurate. What would be the problem? Transducer? Can I just replace that part?
Is the transducer the thru hull on the port side of the vdrive? How hard is it to swap out?
I live on a fairly shallow lake and the water level is really low right now, so I would like to have a functioning depth finer. The guage seems to work fine.
Thanks,

I have a Hawkeye depth sounder with the glue in transducer and had the same problem. Give the manufacture a call, but they had me gently tap it out of the glue hold (near the bilge pump on my 08 Outback DD). Then I had to hold it over the boat to see if it was getting any signal and in my case it wasn't. They sent me a new transducer and gauge at a great price. There website has some videos that explain it all too. http://www.hawkeyeelectronics.com/ Good luck!
