    why are they running these clamps? just a quick release?

    Those clamps are just if you want or need to easily remove the entire FAE for storage.

    so just to be sure, there is the quick disconect option to remove the swim deck from the FAE and then those clamps are the quick release of the FAE from the boat correct?

    Yes. That is what I understand and this came directly from Christina at FAE. This is what I will likely need to be able to still fit the boat in the garage. I was initially asking her how far past the wakeplate it extended but then she filled me in on the details for these clamps so it can be removed completely for storage purposes. It's not listed as an option on the website. She said they have had no issues with them but I am not sure how many people are using them.

    If you don't get the side mount you have to remove the swim platform from the brackets to install the FAE. Some info here: http://www.freshairexhaust.com/fae-options/
