I just bought a 2006 möbius lsv and it came w 2- speedometers just wondering what that's about? The tach and hour gauge is in the middle and the speedometers are on each side. Thanks and luv the info in this forum.

TLDR: Because ski boats have always had two speedometers and skiers are still used to it that way.

Ski boats have always had two speedometers. The traditional measurement was done via a pitot tube/arm and these were prone to clogging and other failures. For redundancy, ski boats put in two pitot tubes and speedometers so that one could fail, yet you could continue your run. This is especially important for timed competition runs. It's less critical for wakeboarding where speed is more about the feel of the wake and is not a direct factor of a competition. As GPS and other timing methods are developed the need for two speedometers is diminishing. (The preferred timing method for slalom courses is now sensing magnets placed at the gates and timing the travel between those magnets)
