Update...again:

Making progress on the WP it now only moves when selected to do so by the driver, this was after the dealer replaced the digital cruise pro.

Still having problems with WP gauge. It likes to still reflect a full down position even with the WP in any other position. All the passengers in the boat loved the frequent stops yesterday when the gauge when move and I would stop to jump out and check the WP position. Calling the dealer today to see if SC will send a new gauge after my findings.
